Environmental temperature and humidity have a great impact on the strength of paper and cardboard, air temperature and humidity changes will cause changes in the balance of paper and cardboard moisture, and finally make its mechanical properties of different degrees of change. The mechanical properties of paper with the law of relative humidity changes, because the paper fiber has a large water absorption, when the humidity increases, the paper tensile strength and tear strength will decline and affect the usability of paper and cardboard. In the determination of the mechanical properties of paper and cardboard indicators must maintain a relative temperature and humidity conditions.

V. Processing performance

Paper and paperboard has good processing properties, can be folded and processed, and can be used in a variety of ways to seal, easy to process into a variety of performance packaging containers, easy to achieve mechanized processing operations, there has been a mature production process. All things are not perfect, and knowing the advantages of paper packaging, it is also important to understand its disadvantages, such as: paper packaging is not waterproof, easily pierced by hard objects, etc.

Disadvantages of paper packaging.

Water resistance is relatively poor and although cartons can be laminated, they can only cope with a small amount of water for products.

Toughness: cardboard boxes are easily pierced by sharp objects and are not very suitable for products with sharp edges.

Weight-bearing aspect: cardboard boxes have a limited weight-bearing capacity, usually ranging from a few kilograms to over a dozen kilograms, and other packaging such as wooden boxes are recommended for overly bulky items.

The disadvantages of environmentally friendly paper packaging boxes: the majority of environmentally friendly packaging materials are now wood products, materials taken from nature for the environment is also damaging. Natural environmental protection materials are relatively expensive, the choice of materials on hand restrictions, packaging box design style and shape less, due to these shortcomings of China's current packaging industry for environmental protection packaging or not a large number of promotion and use.
