When it comes to nostalgia, apart from cassette tapes, vinyl discs and radios, there is another object that is often overlooked - matches. Once upon a time, one of my favourite things to do was to light a match and watch it burn out, lamenting the short life of a match.
Nowadays, although matches have become an ancient object, there are still many big brands that have put a new twist on them by putting cute, modern and contradictory ...... on their packaging!
IVERNA MATCHES BY ILLUME
ILLUME is an American fragrance brand loved by Hollywood stars and has always been dedicated to the pursuit of the best fragrances and designs, producing a number of ceramic mugs of scented candles, each with a unique, hand-painted beauty.
The match head matches the packaging and is true to its name.
KEAP X OBJECT_IFY MATCHBOX SET
Designed by the New York-based aromatherapy brand KEAP in collaboration with magazine outlet OBJECT_IFY, the overall packaging design is Japanese and unified, despite the different colours.
The most interesting thing is that if you stack the matchboxes in order, you will find the words "It is useful to first see the spark before the fire.", which is very creative.
CANDLEFISH
This brand is from Eastern South Carolina, USA and specialises in selling candles, matches and other items. The packaging is a vintage illustration with a very bright orange colour, a contradictory but very interesting blend of retro and modern.
KOKESHI MATCHES
Cute, adorable and amusing ...... Honestly, I'm a bit short of words for this kind of match packaging design. The matches of this brand, both the packaging design and the matches themselves, are printed with the face of the traditional Japanese wooden doll KOKESHI.
STRIKE MATCHES BY HAY
The matches from the home brand HAY are different from the others, with a geometric packaging design and seven colours to choose from. For such a neatly arranged design, I would like to say that I am a bit dizzy ......
Matchpoint
Matchpoint's conceptual matchboxes are available in black and red, which is a very premium look.
I wonder if so many creative match packaging designs have given you any new design inspiration?
